The objective of this study was the proposal of some decision making alternatives to support the dynamic allocation of additional resources i.e. the operators, that could increase the average amount of daily Pupunha palm trays produced in a specific line, through the use of hybrid simulation.
The hybrid simulation was able to cover the discrete and behavioral aspects of this work. These proposals were made to a company that produces a variety of products derived from the Pupunha palm. To fulfill the objective of this work, two forms of the decision-making process were analyzed. The first manner showed which workstation should have received an additional employee in accordance to the level of occupancy, while the second alternative took into consideration the size of the queue.
